Read about Advantage's successful Dynamics GP Business Briefing

LONDON, 20 May 2016: We’re excited to report that our annual Business Briefing for Microsft Dynamics GP customers was a great success! The event celebrated everything associated with GP, including GP 2016, a session on GPUG and a presentation from Paul Hollcraft of JetReports.

Over 70 people attended, including GP customers, business partners and GP users. These are some of the highlights of the event:

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016

Business Meeting

Advantage’s Simon Nicholson, took everybody through a guided tour of Dynamics GP 2016. Simon showcased some of the brand new and exciting features of GP 2016 such as the HTML 5 web client, Power BI integration and some of the enhanced workflow processes. Simon offered his insight and expertise as an accredited member of the Association of Dynamics Professionals.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 is available now. We’ve covered all of its features in this blog.

A customer’s perspective

Dominic Houlbrooke-Bowers of Jupiter Asset Management passed on a few pearls of wisdom about upgrading to Dynamics GP. As a longstanding customer of Advantage, he’s been through several upgrades of GP and talked about the key things to bear in mind when upgrading:

Timing is an important consideration to make when you’re thinking of upgrading your financial system. Year-end will get in the way; month end will get in the way. I’ll be honest, there is no good time to upgrade! You just have to think about the time that causes the least disruption to your business.’

He also went on to say that the Multicurrency features of Dynamics GP have helped Jupiter Asset Management expand overseas. They now have offices based in Singapore and selected European countries.

GPUG

Eli Clarke of Advantage delivered a presentation from the Dynamics GP User Group (GPUG). Their mission is to engage every individual using Dynamics GP in a value added networking and knowledge sharing. They offer membership packages that allow access to loads of useful resources like videos, webinars and GP help sheets.

The biggest announcement of Eli’s presentation came when she stated her intention to set up a GPUG chapter based in London. She invited attendees to join her, as it’s a fantastic opportunity for like minded GP users to share knowledge and expertise.

Jet Reports: Reporting and Business Intelligence

We were fortunate to secure the services of Paul Hollcraft from JetReports during the Business Briefing. In a very colourful presentation, Paul talked about the benefits of JetReports in conjunction with Dynamics GP. Memorable soundbites include snippets of research from JetReports stating; Jet Reports is used by 10,000 organisations in over 94 countries and an implementation of Jet Reports yields an increase of revenue growth by 32%.

He also went on to deliver a thrilling piece on Business Intelligence.

It was an absolute pleasure to have Paul for the short time we did and look forward to working with him in the future.
