August 2007: The role of the Finance Director (FD) is changing. As compliance and financial accountability becomes an increasingly prominent aspect of business, so too has the role of the FD. No longer concerned with day-to-day management of financials, the FD of 2007 is expected to take on a much broader role, including business strategist, technologist, people manager, and ‘deputy CEO’.
